I've got a '94 import WRX.

Modifications are:
Blitz SUS induction kit
Blitz exhaust
Magnex cat free Downpipe
HKS SSQV
Apexi AVC-R set at 1kg/60%
Apexi Power FC (original map)
Walbro 225lph fuel pump

When I run with this setup I just get to 100% injector duty, whilst giving it some.

Does this mean I need bigger injectors? or does the fuelling need tailing off?

At a guess the Power FC map is setup for an STi or a new WRX. I am led to believe they use slightly larger injectors (440cc)

Any help will be appreciated, until I get a chance to get it rolling roaded.

You need the power FC mapped taking into account correct ignition timing to avoid det and the AFRs at an appropriate target.

Options for lower IDC include as you say less fuel if appropriate, raised fuel pressure or larger injectors. Until you measure these things you can't say, but from your power goals you can calculate desired injector size and fuel pressure and leave a bit spare for reserve.

You need to get it sorted. 100% on nigh 1 bar sounds high. You need to see someone about mapping the PowerFC if it's new, either RC developments or Rob Bell tuning, TUning japanese too, bu tthey are further away I think

Hi mate - I have the same problem with my Gtir. I've got the commander and had it tuned on a dynapack, 100% inj duty with the stock 444's I was thinking about getting some bigger injectors until I found out that the commander can only richen/lean out the fuel map - the Ap excel software is the only way to change the base fuel maps. Does anyone have Rod Bell's details?

There is an injector base line adjustment from the commander which is used to set the PFC for different rates of injector. Set these values appropriate to the increase in injector size ie increasing from 440 to 550cc = 80%

No way I would run with a std JDM map on a WRX I have had to pull over 10 degrees ignition from some areas and that was on a 380cc injector car running at 95% IDC

Is that peak hold value or continuous IDC?

When you're near the limit, the injectors can open fully for a split second and then adjust their opening times, but the max held displayed will obviously be 100%...

The STI and later models did use 440s, I have a 95 WRX. On the standard 380s in theory it should go over 300bhp but it was maxed out at 293BHP. It was a good map on a motec with an uprated pump. I went to 440s these were good enough at about 330BHP but again on paper OK for 350BHP. My engine is now in build with 550s (when they arrive). My 440s may therefor be up for sale soon

John, NO NO NO NO No!!!!!!!!! I'm sure I warned you about the fact that your 380's will not survive (yet alone your engine!)the Power FC Mapping. Let me know if you need a set of 440's OR get a FPR to increase the fuel pressure to hopefully reduce the IDC to 90% (don't want any higher than that, Trust me!)

Now in the time for due diligence M8, see you in 10 days

Claudius - Upon monitoring 100% is coming at 6500rpm in 3rd gear for a split second - obviously gear change is about there anyway

Running this setup, everything else is o.k. with knock only going to a peak of 29 (in fifth gear) on the power FC commander - which I'm told is no problem.

As for the tuning, I need to travel a fair distance for anyone capable of tuning it in a sensible time. I'm trying to get some rr time booked but being easter there's a delay.

WUZ - I know what you told me and it will be done. Trying to strike a deal now - I just have to play - can't help it!
