I know this will be a simple question for those of you that know but where is the ECU located and will it be obvious whether it is a Subaru ECU or an aftermarket fitment?.

Under the passenger foot well, pull the carpet and sound proof stuff up and you'll find a big metal plate, remove this and the ECU is underneath.

Fit the aftermarket (or reprogrammed) ECU in the original case and it'll be a hard job to tell it's changed

In most scoobs - if not all - its under the passenger footwell. Peel back carpet, remove metal plate, hey presto
