if it's a single turbo legacy then it will fit pre-97 imp
if it's a 95-97 twin turbo it should fit 97-98 impreza
if it's 98-99 it should fit the 99-00 impreza
I might have the change over dates wrong on the twin turbo, but they are generally ahead of the impreza by a year or so

is it a single turbo legacy? SOme were registered as late as 95, but only made up till end of 93 or early 94
The first twin turbos have the inlet pipe under the manifold like 97-98 impreza.
