I've just bought some NGK PFR6Bs for my `99 turbo and attempted to fit them, discovering in the process I need an approx. 4" spark plug socket to get on the little bugger.

WHERE DO I GET ONE OF THESE FROM ? I know some of you guys have done it. PLEASE HELP !!!

I'm going from underneath. Seems to be good access to the nearside 2 !

Thanks in advance

Isn't it an extention you need to fit onto your existing plug socket, i've not done mine yet, HKS waiting to go on pre Tek 3 ... but i can see that it is important to have the correct length extention.

Do you not have a short extension in your socket set? If not, perhaps now would be a good time to invest in one, or a new socket set?!!

Most people access the spark plugs from above. On the driver's side you will need to remove the airbox, on the other side the wash bottle. This is not as daunting as it sounds - each is held on with a few easily-accessible screws.

There should be loads of threads on this subject.....Good luck!

Yea changed by oil yesterday, which requires the removal of the protection panel on the bottom. Very easy access to the near side plugs. Otherside will probably go from the top, like you say removing the airbox. Although it looks as though the power steering gubbins may get in the way a bit?

My socket extension is approx. 2 1/2" long, all my extensions add probably at least 4". reckon I need something like a 2", agreed ??
