Have just used a multi-meter to measure the voltage signal from the knock-sensor to the ecu .I connected in on term 5 knock signal wire and to earth .I got a reading of 2.4v this is with the ignition on and with engine running, i expected to get a reading of 3-4v i tried tapping the sensor but it did not change the reading.I then did a resistance check of the harness wire and sensor and i was 560 m ohms .I thought it should only be about 560
ohms.Is my knock sensor broken . I have not got the engine fault light up car is running okay but this does not seem right .Car is a 93 wrx please help.

I just had a look at my manual and it said 560 ohms as well. Can you borrow a knocklink from someone to check the car?

Sorry I can't be more help.

I do not have access to a knocklink , but i thought all a knocklink does is display the voltage signal with leds like a multmeter. I am right in thinking that the signal should be 3-4 volts.

I think your right it should be 3-4 volts. Unsure of resistance.
Try a different earth point, for the voltage reading; if its not too good an earth u may lose a little voltage.
