Right, have been on scoobynet for a while now. Realise that there are a lot of highly modified cars on here. Have simple question for you all - Is modifing (advanced stuff i.e rebuilds) worth it??

Only ask because am on the verge of arranging a v. big job (full engine rebuild with all the trimmings etc). Can i really justify spending obscene amounts of money on a 21/2 year old car?? If i do go ahead - i realise performance would be breath taking, but would i ever regain any of the money on re-sale? Would i be better off selling up and getting a new '03 STI?? - Then again, will i not loose a similar amount of money with new car depreciation??

Just looking for some advice / opinions from those who have done it.

Cheers
Dxx

Modify it, as youll only end up modifying the new one.

All cars are a bottom less money pit of doom.

If you have the money do it.
If you'd like a new car then dont.

At the end of the day whatever you do you will lose money!

Buy a Fiat Cincequento then youll be saving

You will never regain any money you spend on a car.
Buy a new one and it depreciates (same with second hand ones).
Modify it if you want but never expect to make any money cause you modified it. Some buyers would rather buy untouched examples.
