you'll struggle to find them on a my00

don't these have a common coil with leads?

Yup, join the club. I think we (UK MY00's) have a main coil linked in to the electronic distibutor which sends it to each plug.

I do not know how to test the coil though. Was considering getting some Bosch uprated coils anyway so see if that helps, will try some hotter plugs first.

I'm interested in how you check/test the coil packs, as well.
Any guru's off the top of your heads.
I have a classic coming over, and want to test/replace as necessary.
Cheers guys

You're about right with the multimeter testing resistance. I'm not sure what values are acceptable (I used to know. but I've forgotten ) Would guess that low numbers are good...

Someone must have access to the workshop manual to confirm?

Check out this months car mechanics magazine. There is a diagnostic section on the scoob showing how to check the coil packs and the picture shows a top mounted coil pack like the later cars. I got mine from WHSmiths

thats a good article, thanks for that! It may help me sort out my intermittent starting problem that has now turned into a non-starting at all problem.

Coil pack testing for pre 97 cars:

check the primary coil by measuring the resistance between the 2 pins in the lead to the ignitor (LT end) 0.7 ohms

Resistance between pin 1 and the HT contact should be 13.8k ohms

(Not sure how you find pin 1....)
