I from across the pond and was hoping to get some insight on what motor I got for my swap. My fellow Americans can only help so much becuase we have had the WRX on 2 years.

Some things point toward it being from a JDM MY94 WRX wagon, some others point toward it being from a 94 WRX STI or 94 WRX STI-SA. A lot of the info I am using to go by comes from this site
http://www.catherineandken.co.uk/sti/wrx.html
Here is what I know about what I have.
- The tranny is a TY752VB3CA
- The turbo is a TD05H, I can't read the whole part number until I move some things but a partial is 14412AA09
- The engine serial # sticker on the timing cover is gone.
- The hood that came with it is aluminium and has stock looking IC sprayers.
- The ECU has the part number 22611AA810
- The hole in the intake manifold for the cruise control has a factory looking plug in it.

According to the info on the above site the B3CA tranny only came on three cars.
94 WRX STI GC8 250hp
94 WRX-SA STI GF8 250hp
94 WRX GF8 220hp
I have read that the hp difference from the GC8 to the GF8 was the turbo, GC has the TD05 and the GF has the TD04, cams, and ECU mapping. My intake manifold is not painted red and I have not found solid facts whether the STI intake manifolds were painted in 94 or not. One source said none of them were painted, another said only the one painted was the RA. I have been told by two seperate sources that the GC and GF had to different ECU part numbers, and another source says they all used the same ECU except for the RA.

The tranny says it could be three different cars.
The turbo says it is a STI.
I need to know what the ECU part numbers are for sure.
I need to know if they painted intake manifolds.

So do I have a modified GF8 or do I have a STI motor?

Also what kind of air sensor came with those. It looks like a hot wire MAF?
