The mother in law has just put diesel in her corsa, she only did a few miles before the car stopped on her.
Is it just a question of draining the tank off and refilling with petrol ? or will/could there be any long term problems.

thanks

Andy

The diesel will dilute with the petrol to an extent. It does not burn in the combustion chamber though, and it will wash the bores, and fill the sump.
Clean the tank ASAP, and also change the engine oil/filter. May also be worth changing the oil again after a few miles to be sure all traces of diesel are removed.

Attu....my mother did the same thing to her car but she did twice in 6 months.

Tank was drained and fuel filter changed. Filled with petrol and no problems. Also the fuel line will need to be drained. Whats in the fuel rail is naff all to worry about.
