Hi guy's and Gals,

I had my car cecked out by Interpro in Bristol a while back and it only pushed 195bhp and 196lb torque at 12psi, the boys at interpro thougt that the timing was out and that a new belt and obviously timing sorted would give me the lost power, does this sound a resonnable assumption..!!!

I have a 93 WRX, Full de-cat SS Syetm, HKS Mushroom filter and a baileys D/V...

Oh and the car's running fine, just does'nt push the power...no misfiring etc.

Cheers,

John.

Well, My 1994 WRX Wagon, with badly slipping clutch put out 225 bhp and 215 lb/ft torque, but apart from that it was fine.

I'd certainly get it checked over again, as it should be making at least 215 if not more.

What fuel do you run it on? could be the ignition has retarded things back which would knock back power.

Could have the at the wheels figure which would be about right.
If that is the flywheel figure definatly sounds low.

What boost pressure were you showing? My 93 wrx had a boost gauge fitted a few weeks back only to find I had 0.5 bar boost (holding, 0.65 peak) instead of 0.7/0.8. after cleaning the pressure exchange solenoid and replacing the cracked intercooler plastic pipe I now have 0.8 peak and 0.67 holding. I just have to get the spark plugs changed now to see if I can get any more

Have you checked to see if you have any error codes? I did a check and found error 45 which was the boost solenoid. I cleaned it out with brake cleaner, reset the ecu and fault has now cleared. By the way, the Check engine light didn't illuminate

The check engine light only comes on if a sensor reading fails a "sanity check" - if it is outside normal operating conditions.

Ta Just thought it would come on when it detected any error

Just noticed the bit about 12psi as well I guess you can rule out low boost then Must read these threads properly when I'm at work
