This is my second subaru the first was a terzo.I have noticed that sometimes when i start my car up from leaving it overnight after a few seconds i notice some blue smoke out of the back of my P1, I have checked my oil and i am not losing any at all.My terzo was the same,I only get this in the winter months, it smells like normal choke not oil.My friend is on his third turbo and his is the same.
Any ideas could it just be the choke working overtime in the winter?

smoke is not good in any form..u dont have a choke just idle enrichment from the ecu.depends on colour of smoke.valve stem seals can become hardened and let oil thru overnight..my calibar turbo on and off looked like a diesel sometimes

I have had it all checked out by my local dealer and he said that it all depends where the piston stops in the bore when i switch of.
As there is a small accumilation of oil in the bore as the engine is horizontal when i leave it overnight ,as a normal vertical engine would drain back down, the subaru engine collects in the well of the bore.
I think its another(they all do that sir).
