A friend has just taken delivery of a MY 95 WRX, we realise it's limited to 112mph and he needs to by a de-limiter,it's a cable driven speedo,his problem is at tick -over or while driving it it won't go over 4,500rpm it's seem's governed to 4,500rpm HOW ? The rev counter is electronic, is there another limiter on the rev counter side anywhere ?As fitting a delimiter on the g/box will only alter the rpm of the cable and won't do nothing to remove the problem with the rec limit. Any Ideas ?

Is it over boosting ?

 

I have the same problem om my 95wrx. I have been told that it is due to a faulty speed sensor which can be a common fault. Just waiting for a replacement for about £30 from jap innovations.
