Understeer / Oversteer - what will i get?
#1
Having had my Scooby a month now, and having recently had bumpsteer / antliftkit fitted - I have a few handling questions.
I haven't yet been able to take the car on a trackday or performance tuition course, so am unsure as to how the car reacts over the limit.
When takiing corners the car seems much happier on throttle, with a feeling the rear wheels are doing the driving similar to a RWD car. - The ALK seems to have banished power-on understeer. If i were to apply too much power going through say a medium speed bend what would be the car's reaction? It feels like it would be mild oversteer, but I've been told it should 4 wheel drift (car would transfer power to front wheels which would also break traction). Would there be a difference in car reaction depending on weather excessive power was fed in progressively or suddenly?
I obviously don't want to attempt this on public roads, but would like to know for safteys sake if I'd get oversteer/drift or even a spin!

Don't think any amount of words on a BBS can accurately describe what will or could happen. Don't rely on peoples opinions either.
If you ain't sure what the car will do on or over the limit then back away from the limit altogether
Find yourself a big open space then go and find out for sure
Even with the bumpsteer mod etc each impreza still seems to have different handling charecteristics on or around the limit, depending on tyre choice etc etc blah blah IMHO
Take it easy till you know.... but find out for yourself is my advice
Good luck
