Hopefully I can describe my problem:

Whilst putting a new plate on the Scoob (Terzo), one of the the screws snap in the nuts on the small grill thats below the front bumper and above the front front spoiler. I tried to remove the remaining thread, but ended up pushing the thread and retaining nut inside the support. I have had a good look how to remove the whole assembly, to see if it can be repaired or replaced but I can't see how it comes off.

To save hassle I stuck the new plates on with Halfords adhesive spacer pads, but after a bit of (ahem) press-on driving I discovered the plate was just about holding on, therefore I removed the plate.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem. Or does it mean I have to jack the car up, remove the grill (somehow) and replace it??

My plates ae held on with the Halfords double sided stickers and have been on for at least 6 months.

Try again but this time heat up the back of the plate and the bumper with a hot air gun or hair dryer before fixing it. Once it's warm and dry clean it with brake cleaner or some other serious cleaner / degreaser and keep warming it. Once all the solvents gone stick the plate on and hold it somehow, lean something against it or tape it in place with tank tape or similar for a couple of hours.

My screw was plastic.....I drilled it out with as large a drill I could use without damaging the captive thread. Then pushed the swarf out with a stick!

Then inserted new bolt - worked a treat.

Done this on all 3 scoobs i have had.

Easiest way is to kncok the backing plate off comepletely, thats what the nut is attached to, just push on the other side and it should pop off.

Then once you have done that, get some self tapping screws with plastic cap covers to match the position on your plate, mount the plate 1cm highere ow lower, and self tap into the plastic backing.

Sorry to bring the subject back up again. Today I spent the best part of half an hour trying to work out how the supports unclip. Am I becoming a serious feckwit as I cannot work how it comes off and I'm certainly not going to try to force it off.

Please help before I go absolutly mental,

I did the same thing with my Previous car

I just used the halford tape heated up as suggested above










When that failed I just bought a new car
