Hi peeps can anyone explain this :

Usually the car idles at 650rpm but from time to time the revs jump to almost 900rpm then down to about 550rpm then rises to 900rpm and back down to 550prm continuously till I blip the throttle then it settles.
could this be the maf sensor ???

In 2 weeks it's happened about 5 times .
thanks to anyone who has an idea, I have already informed the dealer so it will get checked soon.

Mine went back to normal. Some time later I got it checked by PE and it was so shagged running it much longer could have killed my engine Caught it in time though - started off with that idle problem, which went and I thought everything was ok........

Just checking but do you have air con and was it switched on at the time as when compressor cuts in and out periodically this affects idle speed due to extra load on engine.
