don't need any help with this one as it's all sorted now, but just thought I'd post incase anyone else has a similar problem at any point. I'm nice like that.

Driving u pthe A14 I got the check engine light on so backed off straight away and it went off before I stopped.

Car felt a bit odd running after that, but took it to dealer who plugged in select monitor and found that my oxygen sensor had failed.
They replaced it under warranty and she's now running sweet as a nut.

Stupid thing to ask coz so's mine.....The thing is Just upgraded to a UK98 with 18's, leather & anthrite trim...Lovely. I knew the previous but 1 owner and he said he thought it was chipped because the boost was running at 1.2-1.3 bar (which I saw myself). There was no cut off from the ECU when the boost went over 1.1 like my old one use to. Now I've got it the boost is only running @ 0.7-0.8 bar.

I think I have the same problem (with a sensor and check engine light) could this cause the boost loss I'm experiencing or do you think it was not chipped in the first place and just wound the actuator up ????

during my problem, the revs kept on dropping off, and stalling, I looked a right nancy, reving at traffice lights, or when i came to a standstill..

I didnt have any problems with performance though.... no boost loss.. mind u saying that, didnt have my defis in at the time..

Sounds a bit dodgy this 'chip' from the previous owner... what was it..?

Question

Thats the thing...I don't know if it is chipped. Where are the ECU's on scoobys ?? Haven't had time to look for it.

I've just got home from work and the check engine light was on the whole way home....I also have now noticed that it runs quite rough when the light comes on, but when it goes off she kicks back in to life. If it is a sensor problem like yours will I do any damage driving it until monday when it's booked into the garage ???

I should be OK now...searched the forum to conclude my ECU is located in the passenger foot-well and I'll check the error codes myself......quite useful this forum !!!

Cheers for your help.
