Question

Help. I have similar problem to Krazy.
After stopping to fill up, or do shopping, etc. (ie, a short stop only) the car will fire up and then cut out immediately. Will do this a few times and then just turn over without firing. Leaving it for a couple of minutes sometimes works, sometimes does not.
Anyone have any ideas? It's an intermittent problem and it's getting to be quite embarassing sitting in petrol stations going nowhere with all eyes on me.

Had a simular problem with my legacy turned out to be a faulty connection on the fuel pump connecter under the back seat.If your getting no fault codes. You could try taking out a plug when it wont start to see if your getting a spark or fuel problems. At least then your narrowing the options. LEGGY

Thumbs up

Try cleaning the crank and cam sensors..

they look identical.. the cam is easiest to find and is below the oil filler.. has a few wires and a 10mm bolt holding it on..
Crank is identical only between the pulleys on the front of the engine.. they are suppose to work through the dirt they accumilate but have been known to run better and solve this problem for a short time after cleaning with brake cleaner or white spirit and a cloth.

Check all connections to them are clean too etc..

In theroy they should produce an error code but don't seem to always be the case.
