Advice needed
What is the best panel filter for a MY94 WRX

I currently have an HKS mushroom filter that lets all the crap in and buggers up the MAF.

So I am looking for a panel filter that will perform well as well as not leting dirt in.

I also saw a cone type filter on Subaru4you's site which looked like it might be a reliable replacement. Anyone used one?

don't mess with that stuff, some say it will be ok, others say it won't work. I say leave it as you could damage the MAF and the engine. Use a panel filter from ITG or so, as long as it is NOT oiled on the MAF side....
You also could remove the noise damper inside he fender, makes a more sucking noise then...

MAF's on the early cars don't suffer anywhere near as many falures as the later cars.

the HKS filter has been fine on a lot of early cars and has given good results.
