Whats the best way to increase my torque. I had 291bhp on the rollers sat with 243 of torque. Whats the best way to get this up?

Also, does octane booster add anything to the bhp? I didnt think it did but someone told me it may add a bit?

Someone also said the wheel tyre pressure can alter the bhp. How?

MY95 import, blitz induction kit, Blitz Nur spec r system and scoobycport downpipe

Take the induction kit off. Apparently they do nothing for the torque...

Octane booster can improve power if the ECU can take advantage of the additional octane (either by being an ECU which expects the higher octane & has adjusted to the normal lower stuff, or the ECU is simply remapped for the new octane rating).

Upping wheel tyre pressure is a 'fiddle' for rolling roads - it doesn't make any difference in the real world! Unless, that is, your real world has your tyres clamped between two rollers (the reason - in short - it makes a difference is the tyres at low [road] pressure can distort 'to fit' to the rollers, hence increasing friction & sapping power).

Increase torque... the best way is to get a bigger engine... failing that, upping boost.

Cheers nom.

I was interested in this tyre pressure and octane booster as i went to the rolling road with the normal pressure on tyres and my normal petrol. But a few people were talking about they changed the tyre pressure and added octane booster to get better results! Whats the point. lol

Tyre pressure *should* only give a difference to the PAW figures, fw should be the same after the coast down period calculates drivetrain losses.

Best way to get more torque, is to have more boost through the mid range and tapering away higher up (assuming fuelling/timing is OK).

I wouldn't worry too much about the peak figures - what you need is lots of space under the torque graph. I'd rather drop 30lb/ft from my peak if it means I get it sooner and it lasts longer, makes for a much faster car in the real world.

Thumbs up

hi money

tek upgrades are for the later cars only.

the ECU in your car is pretty good anyway but for big power you will be looking at a link ECU.

for a cheaper but good alternative have a look at scoobytunes upgrade on scoobyshop, i have heard nothing but good things about these and the price is fantastic too!

Most cars ive seen give more bhp than torque but at well lane at the week end my PPP car gave 241bhp and 260ft/lb of torque, how do prodrive get the torque so high ?
