STi 6 SEED QUICKSHIFT...TOO CLOSE?

Im due to take delivery of my STi8 on March 1st.I wanted to specify the quickshift but have been warned against it by both the dealer & Mike Wood of Prodrive as they consider it to be unecessary.Has anybody had any good or bad experiences?Please help!

Never tried the quickshift, but the box on the 8 seems to be improved over the 7 to my mind. Seems slicker and more positive.
Might just have been the examples that I tried.
It wasn't at all necessary on the 8 I tried, but the 7 needed something. This is all compared to an MY00 with GGR quickshift
