Sorry, thick head on.....
But can any one explain the difference between these 3 measures of power (HP BHP PS)
Is it a result of how they are measured or is it more fundamental than that ?
Cheers

It's just how the measurements are expressed - like metres or yards.
In the UK we tend to refer to power in terms of bhp, and torque in lbs/ft. It can be confusing
Richard.

The differences between them are very slight. Not sure how to describe each, but numerical valuesa re virtually the same. HP and BHP are Horsepower and BrakeHorsePower. PS is some German measurement of the same thing really.

hp and bhp are imperial measurements, but mean the same thing. PS is a metric unit - used in a few European countries. KW is also a standardised engineering unit of measure.
bhp = hp
ps = 0.98 x bhp
bhp = kw x 1.33
bhp = hp
ps = 0.98 x bhp
bhp = kw x 1.33
