Strange this....Car has been no problem starting wise since i've had it,ie fires first turn of the engine, but today when starting from hot took 5-8turns before it fired(Drove fine) and tonight when i tried to start it from cold the alarm and immob functioned ok but engine just turns over without a hint of firing????

Don't know if its related but about a week ago the car when warm on the way home just cut out a couple of times when crawling in traffic(started straight away when ingnition turned off then cranked).

Any ideas would be great as I'm late already!!

Happened to me yesterday. Started alright in the morning after a night of very cold temps. When I drove it to work it was OK, but at night after a blizzard or two during the day it took me about 1min and 30secs of cranking it over on the ignition to get it to start. Bloody Scoobs. Drove home perfectly though. No idea what the problem was.

a common cause of this problem is a crank position sensor fault!

it is located at the front of the engine block and is quite accessable, not sure on the price of these though but if i know subaru they won't be cheap!

hope this helps
