Unfortunately thats just the peak boost but it shows you that you can go up quite alot in winter (that was in gear btw ) so just be careful as it could catch you out (and thankyou Defi )

1.3 bar is the boost Ian, some people measure in psi. The colder the weather the higher the boost the faster the car. Cold weather is great for turbo's. Opposite is also true, summer, if we had heat would slow the car down. MY97 ( think others are same ish on uk)have a fuel cut of 1.2 bar so you can't boost above that unless you fit a fuel cut defender. Can boost away to your hearts content then as long as you have fuelling etc. 1.3 bar is quite high so above people have the potential to go very fast.
hope this helps as I only know the basics too

Not sure in real terms. My car peaks at 1.19 bar, just below fuel cut but I'm always a bit cautious flooring it in the cold as will probably hit fuel cut. Standard is lower as I have a dawes fitted to tweak it a bit. When I turned the boost up I did notice more power and quicker spool up but thats also due to the dawes. Methinks 1.3 bar will feel nice and fast. They did say it was peak not held boost so it will be less at the held figure. That is the level of boost that remains steady on wot usually in 4th or 5th.

Mines got the Dawes on too, set for around 16psi I thought, this morning on Mway 5th gear floored it, nearly head butted windscreen
Does this mean I hit fuel cut? Thought fuel cut was about 17.5 psi on a MY00. Or does this also mean my guage could be under reading?
(which could be dangerous)
Sorry for the silly questions, but the Dawes was only set up last week and not sure how it should react. Is this due to the cold weather, or is it wise to turn the boost down a bit?
Thanks Steven

Car does seem "Bloody Good" in this weather though.
Were you down at Well Lane last week by any chance?
Would be nice to have a chat.

Steve, chances are your guage is a tad out, fuel cut on mine is 1.2 bar so should boost to 1.19 but guage only shows 1.13 when I hit fuel cut. As far as I have read on here from people far more knowledgable then me almost every one misreads. Fuel cut is like hitting a wall so if thats what you mean by hitting the windscreen then yes you hit it. It's probably best to turn it down a bit but as everyone knows when you turn the boost up you takes your chance if you don't get a remap etc. I think most people like to tamper but it's up to the individual to set it as high as they choose. I'd probably turn mine way up if it wasn't for fuel cut and make a large bang from the bonnet area. Bit long winded there.
