Dawes AFR RED LIGHT!!!!
#1
Cleaned my Dawes MBC yesterday by taking it apart and put it back to same setting. Or as close as possible.
Went for a blast tonight, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th ok and blue light.
Then 5th holds back for a while and Red light is on slowly picks up and orange slowly lights up.
Looked out my rear window and lots of smoke looked white.
Is this unburnt/unused stuff coming out the exhaust?
I had previously set my MBC to 1.25bar WOT and all ok Blue everywhere as far as I can remember.
Now on 1.3bar WOT. So I have wound the MBC back a little bit (half a turn).
Does the 0.5 bar make that much difference??
Did not here any Det.
I am putting on a STi IV Intercooler next week and hope this will help.
MY94 WRX RA with ProVa ECU (jap thing already on car)
Any Suggestions
Thanks in advance
Scott

Thanks for the reply MB but these threads do not seem to be the same problem.
Now I have turned down the boost I will check tommorrow what the AFR says in 5th at WOT.
Have also thought about getting a Better Fuel pump.
Because it was dark I could not see what colour the smoke was but I am sure it wasn't Blue. I could see the smoke becuse of the headlights of the car I was overtaking.
Could it be unburnt fuel??? But surely the fuel pump can't be throwing that much through.
Could it also be a Faulty coil pack??

Out of my depth with this one, but I do know that white moke is not usually overfuel. It normally suggests a water problem and can be head gasket related. Keep that boost turned down. Do you have a remap to run high boost?

Today I have put the boost back down to 1.25bar where it was and refuelled with Optimax + Octane Booster as I do normally and the AFR says YELLOW.
The wierd thing is in 4th it was BLUE then second time 4th is YELLOW, these were both run within 5mins of each other?
Could it be a Faulty Lambda Sensor?
I think I really need to buy a Knocklink ASAP and make sure there is no Knock before KABOOM!!!!
Just thinking is it worth dropping the boost down to say 1bar and seeing what arises then?
Cheers

Just thought i'd add that it seems strange that it holds back when the Accel pedal is on the floor but if I feed it in it's ok??

I would drop the boost until you know what the problem is. 1.25 is still high, but not sure if you're ECU is mapped for that.
