With a full decat a lot of P1s will overboost (most will not hit fuel cut unless it is bad). Fuel cut is sustained over 19.6 PSI and the target is 15.7 PSI so if it is fuel cutting get it sorted.

The turbo dynamics are not very aggressive (in other words it is very lazy at reacting to overboost) compared to UK cars. It also hits a known lean spot on the map (overboost + lean = crap timing if the ECU picks it up, detonation if your fuel quality is off one day). Recommend a restrictor alteration or adjustable restrictor valve or remap to sort it (assuming solenoid setup not clogged with oil).

Same lean spot in Continental STIs. Around 30 have blown up already. I recommend you change the ECU.

Its only ever done it this once and not since. The car is running rich but i suppose there is a chance of bad fuel.

Good job theres a link ecu going on in 3-weeks time.

Thanks John.

Hi Richard, Steve here.

As you know I run identical setup to you with poss. exception I have a Scorpion closed neck decat d/p. (what you got?)

The same happened to me a while back, twice in same day. Never since, very curious. Only thing I know was that fuel tank was very low during that day, not normal for me.

Have not changed the setup, car continues to run really well. (touches wood)

btw I recently changed the maf. Nothing wrong with it just VERY dirty, prob due to my high mileage. Combined with ecu reset the effect has been amazing.

Anyway, I think a remap may be in order for safety.

See you at Well Lane

Steve.

Looks like a nice setup Richard.

Reason I asked the d/p question is that I've got the same Scoobysport one here. I was going to fit it this weekend but I'm concerned that whilst power may go up a lttle over the scorpion, the torque is likely to fall. I hear 2.5" d/p gives better torque?

btw, fitting the induction kit reduced the torque a little also.

On your last Well Lane run did you have it fitted and what was the torque figure?

I think you should easy see 310 bhp with that setup, torque might be nearer 290 than 300 lb?

Let me know how you go on,

cheers

Steve.
