Can someone tell me how to identify my ECU? I have a MY93 WRX. I want to know cos i'm considering buying an ecu plug-in upgrade from Scoobyshop. Has anyone else used one of these and if so, what difference does it make?

I am assuming that you have already removed the carpet from the left passenger flooring and removed the 4 bolts that hold down the protective metal cover over the ecu. The ecu itself will have a letter and number code on it e.g AE801.
Hope this helps

As previously mentioned ..
Lift Carpet & read Large letter code - eg W6 - Z4 etc..
No matter what the ECU is - performance gains are there to be had, however, for some ECUs (particulary the early ones) there are more restictions, so standard boost 10-11psi can only be raised to 15-16psi not 16-17psi.
Not a major limitation IMHO given that the Prodrive PPP ECU for the early models lifts boost to 13-14psi.
