my 97 engine swap.
The ECU and wiring looms are very different for a start, so if you get the right ancillaries, it may just work. (including turbo, IC and ECU)
Also, the gearbox is different, so depending on whether the bell housings match up (I seem to remember that they do with a bit of effort, but I don't know for sure!) you will need to change the box and rear diff (to keep the ratios right...)
It sounds like quite a lot of work.
You could do just about as well tuning the UK engine, surely?
