Question

OK guys and gals ANY feedback will be gladly recieved.

I have a MY99 engine wise it's standard and I have a good length to run on the warrenty....

So heres the wish list.

De-Cat centre and backbox (I want it sound nice) Scoobysport/TSL ?
Dumpvalve.I love the sound they make but I'm not sure what they do?
Brakes, probably the only thing I would moan about on the std car.
ECU.... Thinking TEK2?

I have spoken to the bloke at the garage who does the servicing and they are pretty liberated when it comes to mods.

Don't know how the ECU thing would work warrenty wise can u put the old one back in if you have any issuses is it easy for them to spot on say a std service?

Ideally I would prefer a PPP but find it hard to justify for the 1700 quid... And doing it this way the missus might not notice too much.

so over to you, recomendations, prices, issues anything that you can pass on would be great.

Oh and happy new year

Ian I think you'll find that all these mods would invalidate your warranty, particularly as IM seem to have been toughening up on warranty claims.

Your dealer wouldn't know if your car had been Tek'd or not. Just like your Insurance company. I'd like to know how many people there are out there running Tek'd cars on the quiet.

It's a simple choice between warranty and performance/price. If warranty is importnat, then PPP is the only route.

If not, then full exhaust de-cat, improved breathing and an ECU-tek remap. I have a hybrid TDO4L turbo, too 100bhp up on stock.

The ECUtek remap and hybrid turbo are not easy to detect (visually idential) but if the dealer suspects you've been messing, becasue the car goes like **** from a goose, then plugging in the diagnostics will show an abnormal level of boost. Game up

BTW, I find it hard to understand how IM taking a tough stance on some mods is wrong, but cheating with 'stealth' mods is somehow okay when your engine breaks. It's a two-way relationship.

Richard.
