Prices are quite variable for pads - you can get motor factors for cheap money, but performance is reflected in price. I've got Pagid pads on the front, and they were £125 all in.

For these cars, I'd recommend your first modification to be to change to 4-pot calipers. The two pots are widely known to be pretty poor. With 4 pots you get much improved braking and a wider and slightly cheaper range of pads - which is good news!

The handbrake - I'd take it back to the garage and ask them to fix it. Was it just MOT'd for the sale? If it was, and it seems bad then maybe they havent carried out the check properly. Give it a go, what have you got to lose?

Cheers,
Mark

just a quick one, you can get the 2pot set-up to work fairly well (if you put the right parts into it!!) depends on your budget and driving style..........
and the 2pot discs/pads ARE A LOT more reasonable in price than 4pot
any further advice/info drop me a line
alyn - as performance
