Cool

There are loads about,
Have you checked your own ECU. Just a few weeks again I found mine had an Unisha Jecs MINES ecu.

Find them on www.mines-wave.com
lots of others: Motec, Scoobyecu (www.scoobyecu.co.uk) etc etc
What car you got, colour etc. Do you know stabler, in the red scooby wagon? Or stu in the silver Uk impreza?

Question

Do you know how much power does that MINES ecu add? (have you dynoed yours?) and what's the minimum octane fuel you can use with it?

thanks,
kotaro

Kotaro,
No Idea yet what the BHP is like ive been adviced to remove the ecu as the map was set up for certain things on Japan fuel and ive added bits making the map useless. Im running on Shell optimax which ive been informed is 98-99 RON. Probley get some octane booster soon. I will put a post up when I manage to get it dynoed
Regards Ronnie

whizkid,
Firstly Welcome

www.scoobyECU.co.uk is a good place to start for an upgrade.
If you want to go mad for power with a fully mapable ECU speak to http://www.brdevelopments.com/ but it will cost!!!!

Is the car standard? If so the next stop is a full de-cat exhaust and a free flow air filter

Happy motoring and I hope to see you on the BBS regularly
Iain.

Thumbs up

My 93 wrx had a unichip fitted & mapped on a rolling road and cost me just under £700 by Performance turbo systems.

Car has loads more torque and a bit more power (didn't want to much extra boost running 1.1 bar now) and has no flat spots and less lag. Totally Recommend it.... (+ this car is for sale under the for sale section)

dyney...

My site is a good place to start... but if you want mad power and can map it yourself... then you can achieve the same as I have with a std ecu..

2 David : As a lot of members here pointed and agreed your site should be good start....BUT...only if a customer ever get a reply to a mail (

I have tryed to buy your "thing" 3 times now...first time i got reply that i should find what ecu do i have...so i took a pic...mailed it = no answer...ok...so i tryed 2nd time...same thing but no response, not even to the first mail...ok...so i tryed 3rd time (3rd time lucky i hoped) 10 days ago...i got automated response and not a word since...So i'll try to ask here =
Do you sell ecu upgrade for 6D / 22611 A8540 / A18-000 D07 version of my96 ecu ???

Thanks upfront

6D ECU will probably require a socket to be fitted and will also require the standard map to be downloaded for starters.

I havn't yet seen a 6D and I don't think David has. As it's a 96 I expect it will be running about 13psi if it's a saloon (95's run 12.7 and 96 STi RA's run 13.7psi).

The download and socket fitting can be done at the same time, but you will have to send the ECU to David or Myself to be worked on, and an extra charge for this will be applied.

I have no stock of adaptors at the moment but would be able to prepare the ECU ready for one to be dropped in. The adaptor can be supplied by David or Myself, although I'm not sure what Davids stock and workload is at the moment.

Please don't get upset and rant if you don't get a reply, or you might end up upsetting those that can help you out, at considerable less cost then other remaps.
We are only private individuals doing this in our spare time for fellow enthusiasts, so please be patient.

These guys are charging about 15% of what they could for this device if they had laydees answering the phones, premises, support staff etc etc. Credit to them for keeping the costs absolutely incredible and probably making a massive loss on it when you consider their time.

2 Scott: First about ECU...i don't have spare one to put in my car and i don't think customs will be glad about me sending stuff back and forth without customs (sound stupid but works that way here) so i guess nothing about a deal (((
About me beign pain it the a**...i havent intended to disqualify any of your work or to be negative about you and David but what you wrote me here is so much more than nothing in mail...I posted it here in hope i will get a fair answer (which i got and i thank you for that) and to clear ecu issues...FYI 6D is actually 95 ecu (it is a 208hp Impreza GT Wagon) according to VIN check and it runs 1,1bar at a moment with Dawes Device HBC (originaly about 0,8-0,9)...however i can't afford to be without ecu for xy period of time...as for soldering, i can do it myself but obviously it can't be done without d/l of data before...so i'm stuck again...(
I do apologize if i sounded to harsh...hope you can understand...

2 John:Agree completly with you...it's not like i mailed them and start bitching about no-reply 2 days after...it's going for few monts now and few mails...never argued about price and quality of Scotts and Davids work though...just thought to post here in hope to get reply and solve my mistery what to do about ecu...

One question for end...any suggestion about options for me...noone have a 4wd dyno here nor does anyone do link/motec/etc remap (thats why i wanted remapped universal chip at first place) so any advice where to look for some simple way of upgrade?

Thanks to both of you for reply...

CeeDee

if you can solder & do a bit of electronics building, then look at Andrews site.
if you build the monitor you will be able to

a) have an instrument to monitor your car with
b) download the maps (using the example dumper program!)

this way, you can dump the maps, send them to Scott/David so they can sort you out an adaptor & send it back to you. Then when you get it, you can monitor all the parameters on you newly built SCOOBYMONITOR ! :-D

good idea ?

cheers
Steve
p.s. sorry to go a bit OT on your thread WhizKid!
