Could anyone tell me what my STi V5 imported straight from Japan will need for the SVA test? What do they check, Noise? Emissions? At present there is a 3" centre section SS exhaust and a 4.5" HKS SS back box apart from that she is standard, can anyone give me any info or point me in the correct direction as to what i need to check or change. Also would the car pass MOT with the exhaust SS exhaust?

Thanks.

Emission test, brakes, lights (checking for the mandatory e markings), tyres (meeting the speed requirement for the car as well as the conidtions etc..), any internal dials and external objects meeting the edge radius 2.5mm requirement, exhaust system, if the exhaust extends beyond the body line then the tail pipe edge must meet the 2.5 radius.. rear fog light, all wiring must be secured, to name a few points...

SO best of luck with the SVA.....

OJ..

Yeah they change the fog light, Kmh to mph and fuel neck. You will need to probably need to chnage the exhaust though. Mine was just imported and the exhaust passed the emission test at the MOT but was told by the SVA it would fail so had to do a quick change for a standard one to pass it.

Also no blue bulbs in the headlights as thats what the imports normally cone over and needs to be changed. I also had some problem with my Steering wheel as it had a bit of metal in the centra and apparently it was going to fail!!

Thumbs up

The best thing really if you havent done a test before, is do the mandatory bits and bobs, speedo (make sure that when the MPH sticker is applied, that kmh cannot be seen when the lights are on) foglamp (slimline type on sti) fuel neck ect, take it to an mot station to check the emmisions, light levels and brake roller test, then take it for its sva, it will more than likely fail, then all you have to do is change what they tell you to change, a retest is about £20.

you can get all info, technical queeries and booklets from the VI in swansea 01792 458888.
