Sinking feeling!
Before I start, I know I'm a muppet but I'm firking lucky one at that.
I was just wondering what else I should get inspected, other my head, as the water level was pretty high.
Last Monday on the way back from work, I decided to take a short cut but encountered a small puddle. Half way through this small puddle, it became a stream and eventually ended up being the river Soar.
When the water was level with the front head-lights, I thought **** but the Scoob kept going, just. Problem was, too much speed (5mph)caused a great big bow wave to flow up the bonnet but as the water was above exhaust pipe height I thought I couldn't slow down as water would choke the engine.
So, slipping the clutch at 3000 to 4000 rpm for 30secs saved my life, but its certainly sh@gged my clutch. The clutch sometime sengages and others it just cant be bothered. The other thing I've noticed is the carpet inside is v.wet.
So I've booked the car in for a new clutch next week, apparently parts will take 7-days. Is there any other checks I should ask my dealer to complete?
Yours truely wet behind the ears
Andy.

I think you should check the airbox and inlet tract are free from water, consider if the air filter and MAF sensor are OK, and also try and get a look at the turbo compressor wheel to check it is OK. As well as getting the clutch sorted out you might want to check if there are any pockets of water collected anywhere they shouldn't and after it is all dried out consider renewing the underbody protection and getting a good interior valet.
Oh now come on!!!
You can't just say you drove into the River Soar, without telling us where, how, and how you got out again? Can you?
You thought it was a puddle? Now I know standard Scoob lights are cr*p, but that's ridiculous...............

The place is a small village outside of Leicester called Ratcliffe on the Wreake. The Wreake part is a small river that feeds into the River Soar.
Over the past few weeks, I've been passing through this village on my way to work even when there have been floods along this route. So, I thought it would be no different on this day but it was a little deeper this time. Started off slowly along the road and the 'new river' was about 4 or 5 inches deep. But it got deeper and deeper until the head lights were shinning through the water. Ooops
So I slowed a little, the car began to cough and the lights dimmed. Then I switched of the lights, briefly considered reversing but I thought that would be too risky as the flow of water may block the exhaust. About 50yards in front of me I could see the white lines of the road and some tarmac so I pressed on to this high ground. Each time I moved forward, the water came up the bonnet, but each time I slowed the engine coughed more. That's when I revved the b@alls of the car, smoked the clutch and crawled the last 50 yards.
Stopped on the high ground for about 1-min. Every thing seemed okay, the car was smoking but I presumed it was steam with the water drying off the engine and exhaust. Brakes were a bit poor but so far the only two things I've noticed is the clutch pedal travel is rough and short and the idle/tick over is uneven, oh and the carpet is wet (I know that makes 3 things).
Lets just say, I wont be going through deep puddles anymore.
