........to get an answer to this one. It's just gonna feel better to get it out of my system.
My Scoob has got one of them really anoying sounds. It comes from somewhere either just behind the dash, or even in the drivers door.
The only sound i can relate it to, is like one of them cheap wirey coat hangers clanging another cheap wirey coat hangers.
Feel free not to even try this one Netters, i feel better having got it off my chest.

Two metal pipes run along the top of the bulkhead in the engine bay - make sure the rubber insulators are in place and that the pipes aren't touching

I'll have a butchers.
It's one of these sounds that comes and goes, but yesterday i came to a halt on bird's drive and it did it for about 10 seconds?
This makes me think that it's not something just banging together, as i came to a halt very gently. It just appears for no apparent reason

I really wasn't expecting a reply to this thread
If you are at home, go and look in your cupboards. If you have two or three wire coat hangers, just tap them together gently. That is the sound i get.
Like i say, i really am not convinced that sommat is actually banging together, but the sound is obviously comming from somewhere.

My old dears wagon had this, turned out to be the rod in the door lock mechanism, had fell off one end, still locked with the blipper but key did nothing.
Hope that helps

Jeepers flippin creepers. Dyney you may have just hit the nail on the head. I'll have to dig the motor out of the gararge to check it out, but the sound i describe is just the noise i imagine an ariel would make. I shall let you know....... just as soon as i peel my bum off my bean bag.
