shouldn't be anywhere near you wheel!!!!!!!
if you cant re-use original brkts on the strut, then a tie-wrap around the strut should do nicely - just make sure the hose has enough free play

Definately make sure they dont EVER touch the wheel!!!!!!
The rear one on my bike touched and you wouldnt believe how quick they wear down to the rubber!!
