I've got one better than you. What car did you get it from?

OK, can anyone confirm this is a MAF for an STi 5/P1?

Can I just plug it in & go?

With all the posts ref. MAF's I was hoping someone would recognise this part?

It's new, unused & supposed to fit an STi5/P1?

Can anyone confirm?

The plug on the top looks like the one I unplugged from and plugged into on mine last night but that is not a P1..
but they probably have the same plugs, so no help.

Can you not check the serial number with the one on your car?

and check the appearance etc??

JGM, many thanks for the reply

I do have the part number, it ties in with the MAF for a STi5/P1,
this just dosent look the same as fitted, hence the question?

I thought someone may have seen/fitted this already and could say what to??

cheers

Mega Stream,
numbers are C36-700 R92, but like I said this is supposed to be an STi5/P1 fitment (part number confirms) but it looks different to that fitted???

This is from an STi5 RA, same as a UK car.

Hope this helps.

Cool

Mega_Stream, your a star!

Thanks v. much, that confirms what it is!

Would you happen to know if this is also a 'Plug & Play' fitment for a P1? I just have a feelin' that the last time I saw it the P1 MAF did'nt have all the black plastic casing around it?

I don't want to take a spanner to the car to find it's not the right one!

Thanks again

Steve.

Yes it's the same on a P1.

2 Torx screws releases the unit and with some gentle pulling it will come out.

Do an ECU reset and off you go

Thanks again Mega_Stream,

Uh..Oh.. ECU reset?

Never done that, read lots but unsure of best way to do it. Oh well, back into uncharted territory....

May be just as well though, car has Blitz induction & full decat, may benefit?

Surprisingly the MAF's not gone, I just had a chance to buy this one brand new at a very reasonable price!

As my P1 has done quite a few miles now, and the fact I added the Blitz a while back, I reckoned the MAF must be due a clean. Also not running quite as smoothly as it has done.

Idea is to switch to the branny and clean the old and keep it as spare/backup!

Dealer told me today MAF is a weak point and often replaced under warranty claims. The cost of replacing the whole housing is the reason they now make MAF available separately?

Anyway, got the ECU reset instructions so tomorrows the day!

Just hope I don't *!%&#@!! anything up!

Steve.

All done!

New MAF now fitted, ECU reset and, WOW, what a difference!!

Existing MAF was really dirty compared to new, car's a lot smoother, picks up quicker from the off and is generally livelier.

Would recommend cleaning maf to anyone who has done a few miles especially if induction kit is fitted.

Big thanks to Karl for the sale of the maf and to Mega_Stream for advice.

Top Job.

Steve.
