Anyone know what to look out for on a 92 legacy turbo saloon?
Or know a link to a buyers guide?
Also what are the vital statistics of this model?
Cheers

Hi Dan
the things that you have got to look out for are as normal, has it had a service recently were the cam belt was changed, does if crunch in 1st when pulling away fast and changing in to 2nd at about 4000 - 5000 RPM, any rust around the front of the rear arches where it meets the sill section...????? i think they are the most common things.
The poer of them is about 205 BHP (but i dare say some will give you the actual figure)
if you need any additional help let me know or any parts for it as i have a few in the garage.
you may want to have a look around my site: http://www.dgrallying.com

Magnet, my 93 beastie is reluctantly for sale if you are looking for one.
It's metallic dark green (almost Lotus Carlton)and has 96k on the clock. It has a stainless steel exhaust, 4-pots, MY00 wheels & struts, and a MY99 gearbox. It's just had it's 90k service, which is basically all fluids & a cambelt and it had a new uprated clutch about 4k miles agoand may be fitted with a 6 disc multi-changer.
Mail me on my profile address if you are interested.
On top of what DGR says above, power was officially 197bhp @ 5800rpm, but they are generally quicker than pre-facelifted Imprezas so it may be more
Another thing to check on the gearboxes is that the springing on the lever is equal side to side, if it moves too freely towards the 1st/2nd side the mainshaft is worn, hence my car having a 99 box, according to a friend at my local dealer, the mainshafts were a bit weak on the legacy & early Impreza boxes and they were uprated on post 97? cars.

another place to look out for rust is on the front wings, just around the black trim with the side repeater fitted, how do i know? - well, i've got to get 2 new wings for mine, also cracked fog light on the front (bloody expensive to replace)
also don't forget the noisy followers, Dave should be able to tell you more about that problem
