Driver door when open doesn't make light come on.

It's either the switch or the cable. The switch works by connecting the wire to ground when the door is open. Pop the switch out, look for crap/gunk, clean it, pop it back and it'll probably work. Should take no more than 10 mins.

I had this problem, it was actually the switch in the light (rear passenger) that had inadvertantly been switched off..... DOH! but the bulbs only about 50 or the likes anyway

Christian,
Each door has it's own switch (passenger side shown in the pic below).
You need to remove the trim around the seatbelt to gain access to it. Obviously, when the door is closed it pushes the switch in and turns the light off. Sounds like a bad connection or the switch is a duffer.
Hope this helps,
Stefan

I had this problem on my MY00 Wagon. Does the door open indicator on the dashboard come on when the drivers side door is opened?
On mine it turned out to be a problem with a diode on the dashboard and the whole dash had to be replaced. Problem is the mileage is lost as they cannot clock them forward or maybe if that's a benefit for you
The dealer traced it from the light, to the door switch, to the alarm and then to the dashboard.
Hope this helps and more so you have warranty

Christian, take the door switch out (phillips screw), unplug the wire/connector going to it and touch the wire onto the chassis, you may need to push something metal into the connector to enable it to touch the chassis correctly... if the interior light comes on then you need to replace the switch/clean the contacts..

Had some alarm work done recently?
When the guy had the first stab at fitting the alarm, it didn't work out too well, it's not perfect now, as it kinda joins some of the door open warning light circuits.
Does your car have individual warning lights for the doors and boot? If so check those don't work also.
