Question

Does anyone know what psi level the fuel cut defender will cut at as standard for the 2002? 18 psi, 19 psi?

What do you think to fuel cut modifiers to lift the limit?

Cheers. My motor must be running near the limit then as I've set the boost around 17/18 mark - can't be sure at the moment since my boost pipe to the gauge is leaking.

Think I'll invest in a fuel cut modifier...

If you are using a dawes you may find it runs better at approx 16.5psi ~ mine never seems as quick with more than this.

Does anyone have any idea why they seem to pull about 1psi more in 5th than in the other gears? Another good reason to keep it to 16.5psi.

I am running the dawes and I'll try that boost setting once I get the gauge pipe fixed.

I;ve only just adjusted the dawes above approx 15 psi and noticed the improvement. Maybe it's only running at a true 16.5. I'll let you know what happens, cheers.

Load - there's more load in 4th/5th than in any other gear, so the turbine is spinning better/able to compress better.

If you're not getting any more oomph after 16.5psi, definitely don't go any higher - you're 'turbo' is now more a 'heater' than happens to blow quite a bit of air Hello outskirts of efficiency island...

What turbo does a '02 WRX run, then?

Nom - TD04, much like MY99 & MY00, IIRC. Sure I'll get corrected if I'm wrong.
