Opened the boot of my car yesterday and was shocked, there was about 4 inches of water around the spare wheel!!!

Usually gets in around the rear light clusters. Take them off and reseal them!

Or to check before you do it climb in and shut the boot then get someone to hose the car down

I have the same problem, thought it might be coming in through the spoiler. Spoiler is loose and I can clearly see a gap.

Can be a sign that it has been rear ended in a previous life.

I don't get water in my boot but there have been several instances where I take my snooker cue out and the tip's wet.

Any suggestions? (apart from "don't leave your cue in the boot!")

I don't get water in the boot either . . . just condensation on the bottom corners of the inside of my rear window. No advice about the snooker cue either, useless, I know . . .

Same problem with mine..

I removed the rubber bung under the spare wheel.. you have to look underneath to see it...

then any water that gets in runs straight out again..

It is a common problem and 9 times out of 10 it is the rear lights.. eventually I might get around to resealing mine..

I dissagree it is a sign the car has been rear ended.

Also it could be the boot sealing rubber has come away a bit. I admit it is most likely the back lights. Luckily, fixing the problem is easy compared to finding it!!

BTW, remove the horrible hardboard spare wheel cover until you get the leak sorted, as it will go into interesting shapes when wet!

look at the two sides (near the back of thetop mounts of the suspension) of the boot. In each side there is a small pipe that drives the water from the roof through the sides to outside. Maybe these two pipes are off their normal position and all the water goes inside your boot.
