only my mates got quoted 6.5k for one with light front damage so is considering it. A brief spec will be much appreciated !

it could be either a 4 or a 5, need a date off registration to be more precise

If it has the older style bumper (like the UK pre MY99 bumper) then its an STi 4. If it has the newer style bumper with the orangy bits below the indicators (i.e. UK MY99 - 00) then its an STi 5. I think all STi 4 Impreza's (with the exception of the STi Type RA) also had a three piece lip on front bumper too.

However I have seen a few MY98 STi 5 cars with the newer style bumper so I guess thay must have put it on the jap spec Impreza's cars before they put it on the UK MY99 Impreza's

forgot to say big wing on the back (WRC style) = version 5, smaller wing = version 4

Hi,

Be careful guys, bumpers and spoilers can be fitted to cars they weren't designed for. Mine has an STi6 spoiler but it's a 96 uk.

The best way to tell is ask for the model no. off the VIN plate

GC8E... is STi4
GC8F... is STi5

If you post up the full no, I can tell you exactly what it is.
