Jamie Whitfield of JW Racing fame tells us MY01+ cars can have their ECU reset by simply starting your car (stage 3 ignition), then stopping it 5 times consecutively.

I tried this, to extinguish my CEL, to no avail !

Perhaps you also need your wipers on, flash your fogloghts between ignitions and dance the Macarena, naked, anti-clockwise round the car

Thumbs up

I forgot to mention, if it is your decat that's causing the CEL to come on, the aforementioned Mr Whitfield has just taken delivery of a fix for this problem.
Little box you plug into your ECU that tells it there is no problem with your exhaust.
About £50 IIRC
