paul that is my hks trumpet bov and is set up properly, both bov have been connected in exactly the same way but are mounted differently
it is a vta, sounds like yours is too tight or too loose. did you play with the screw on the back?
edited to add too loose

JUST PUT DUMP VALVE (TRUMPET ONE) ON MY WRX 93 AND IT IS STALLING THE ENGINE (HKS ONE) NOT SURE WHERE IT GOES CAN ANYONE HELP ME?

Have you tried removing said item and going back to standard?
(your engine wont stall then )

Yours looks like the old HKS dump valve, dont know much about these... it does look as though the srew on the end is screwed to far out...

no its vent to atmosphere..!!! some dump valves dont work with the scoobs MAF, dont know if the old HKS ones where ok, mine is fine though....

MAF = mass air flow sensor....!! some dump valve cause idle/drivability problems... thats why people like www.forgemotorsport.co.uk and www.baileymotorsport.co.uk make specific twin piston design dump valves that dont cause problems.....

The MAF sensor sees the air that is dumped as lost air and causes fueling problems.... the new HKS ones and alot of new ones are made to work with MAF sensors.....
