Link ECU or Dawes and DIY FCD?

It depends on what you want from the car.

Dawes = cheap mod with good results

Link = big turbos, FMI, etc

If you've got the money, go for the link (or at least a remappable ecu - you know there's software which can remap the OE one now too?).

The Dawes/FCD is OK, but very crude - you're taking control of things away from the ecu, which is in general a bad thing.

Question

What would be your recomendations guys and gals. With the DIY FCD and dawes your lookin' at spending less than a ton. Link ECU is alot more, what are the pros and cons of each set up. Thanks in advance for any information.
Car in question is an MY97 with induction kit and full decat
