Auto I\C spray STi7

HI techies
Quick question....
Never had it happen before, but just had Motec 800 fitted and my spray light is coming on, (I didn't know it did it auto) Just wondered if you new the sort of temp it needs to get to to do this? The fan also is running for a VERY long time after stopping also.
Thanks

Relax guys UK cars are auto, the little dash button is only there for you to play with when you are bored. The Motec light indicates when it's working the dash light in the standard car only indicates low level not operation

Thanks for that, I'm the same as everyone else in that it never worked before as an auto. Do you know what sort of temp it has to reach before it gets there? Obviously the Motec gives it some more to work with.

Sorry to spoil the excitement, but on a standard UK car the I/C water spray is manual ONLY (which explains why both mine and Carolyn's, despite being driven for nearly eight months including through a hot summer, are still both on their original tanks of water)

never used MOTEC but our GEMS systems use similiar set up - when boost and or intake temp. reach pre-set limits it switches the water spray on for a set time!
all of these parameters can be "mapped" to any requirement you care to input, but obviously if the car has been set up by an experienced chap then he'll have a good idea of the ideal values.
the light may have been given a new function - to show when the system is operating? but why dont you speak to your "mapper / installer"??
e.g. on customers evo7 rally car we used the "management" light on the dash as a shift light!!
alyn - as performance

manual only we were told it was made like this as when it is auto it gets through a tank quite quick. don't know how true it is but they are defo manual unless as previously said the different ecu is able to control it.

Guys
Probably due to the Motec, it definitely works auto now, and had not before. Whether thats due to more heat or umph or the ECU I'm not sure, but it gives itself a couple of squirts when run quite hard. The light signifies it pumping.
Wondered if the PPP would do the same if run quite hard?
Thanks again
