Brake fluid smell when Hot
#1
Since my car came back from its last service I have noticed the smell of brake fluid coming in throufg the heater when the car has warmed up.
never noticed it before and dont notice it when the car is cold,
My best guess is they spilt some when they checked the level, BUT just wanted to see if anyone else has ever had this smell?

Hol,
My car (94 WRX) does something similar, not sure if it's hydraulic fluid though .. only notice it when it's warmed up and it seems much worse when i give it a fast standing start (which i don't do when cold obviously). The power steering reservoir gaskets were replaced when i bought the car which makes me think it might be the clutch. My car's going into the garage next week so i'll let you know if they find anything.

had same problem on 93wrx found 2 problems, power steering column was leaking and more common, rocker cover had small leak , drips straight onto exhaust pipe giving oily smell when warm , new gasket fitted now fine.
