AFR going offline after 4500rpm?????

This is begining to do my box in now [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]
AFR wired up as per diag on apexi pdf download
(ecu view F4a).
(blue plug)? mine is.
Positive feed taken from back of ciggie lighter.
sensor from white with silver tracer as per diag.
ground (dubious as green with black tracer) as per diag.
worked when revved at standstill and for bout 5 mins after
then stopped. fault found with my dodgy wiring at the back of bright switch fixed.
working but not staying on blue for long ??
ok not happy with ground so removed and placed on bolt holding down ecu.
works but after about 4500rpm (under load, driving) it goes offline so to speak????

i take it this is not normal and should work all the way to red line !!!
having some fuses blow regards dash lighting but dont think this is connected hehe excuse the pun !
def connected power to 12v ciggie and not lighting circuit.
help. before I rip the ******* afr out and throw it as far as I can see

I got my dawes AFR meter to work by connecting it directly to the positive and negative terminals of the battery and then the signal from the sensor or the wire at the ECU... i fitted my lambda link different though... not sure about the apexi.
It might be that you have a problem with your o2 sensor, thing is the o2 sensor is not used to control the fueling at WOT.... but it should still give a voltage...

ripped the centre console out and disconnected the lot including AFR. still blowing dash illum fuse ARRRGGGHH [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]
still it proves it's not connected to my afr in any way....but something else to fix now

Ok I'll go back out and solder some longer cable on so it will reach the battery, otherwise there will be an AFR for sale

fecking sidelights wont turn off now, pulled fuse under bonnet so I will have some battery for tomorrow.
That's it it's ******* going to Listers !!
AFR I re-connected as I had it, as it had no affect on sidelights.
bloody toys, should of just left it standard.
what a waste of 60 quid. It looks neat where I have it so it's staying in there, flashing or not.

On a motorway run today down to Bournmouth...the Check engine light came on.

Oh dear
Do not use any other earth point than the battery or preferably soldering into the ECU ground. I tried both, no difference really. If you are blowing fuses then you may have an earth fault?
If it goes off after 4000 rpm then there is something up, with either the sensor itself, or your wiring. If it goes off on WOT then I would suggest the sensor is buggered when going closed loop (or is it open... one or the other) I its rev related then I would be confused.

I have checked and re-checked the wiring I soldered in.
I used a different website for the wiring docs, namely ravensblade.
(wiring diagram.pdf)much clearer than the previous site.
didn't like the look of the route to earth the ecu ground wire took to get there, so am using a bodywork earth.
positive is defo positive.
So I have to conclude it's the sensor that's gone
also note I had check engine light come on on motorway yesterday.
not checked fault codes yet.
Is it the two black ones you plug together for this ?
edited to say never mind, pluged the black ones together turned on ign and guess what folks.....3 and 2 is 32 I make that the lamda sensor then
time to call in for a bit of warrenty work then
