Is this a 12V square wave (like the rev counter signal) or is it something different?

I don't want to spend another night dismantling my car...

(Car is a MY96)

There is a connection on the ECU that gives the Speed signal... is that what you were asking?

Anyway, i thought ur car was a MY97... made in late 96?

Dave,

according to the diagnostics PDF I have, which appears to be for upto the MY96's, the sensor gives out a PWM signal, with the pulse width decreasing as the speed increases.

It should be 10v min p-p (it says)

This is measuring @ the ECU, not sure what it would be on the back of the clocks. might be worth taking a look.

Hope that helps some..

cheers
Steve
