Can someone please enlighten me on this subject.

What does this mean?
When does it happen?
Is it only linked to boost pressure? and
How is it controled?
And what happens when the fuel cut is triggered?
Is it a safety device or what.

Thanks

Derek

I'm only a novice, but I've just brought a Dawes device (mechanical) this will allow me to run over a bar without the Ecu thinking it's over boosting, good explantion here

>What does this mean?
It means the ECU is purposely stopping fuel going to the cylinders.

>When does it happen?
When it senses overboost

>Is it only linked to boost pressure? and
Not sure, I'm not entirely sure how the rev limiter works, it could be used there too. Also you can get fuel starvation if you corner hard for a long period on a low tank of fuel which feels just like fuel cut.

>How is it controled?
I assume injector duty cycle is 0

>And what happens when the fuel cut is triggered?
Your face tries to mate with the windscreen - believe me you'll know when it happens!

>Is it a safety device or what.
Yes, although its a brutal method
