Strange smell from the Air con !!!
Hi all,
I have started to notice a strange smell coming from the vents when I use the Air con.
Halfords sell Wynn's 'Airco Fresh' Aircon cleaner but this needs to be injected into the "Internal inlet valve" in the Air con unit.
Has anyone also suffered from this problem and how did you cure it?
Has anyone tried the Wynn's product and did it work?
If I buy the product where is the "Internal inlet valve" on the Scooby. Is it inside the car behind the dash or under the bonnet???, any help would be much appreciated. If anyone has got any pics or a description of where I can get to it???
Here's to pleasent a smell.
cheers,
Stully

When was the aircon last serviced?
Approximately every 2 years your system needs to be overhauled and regassed, the strange smell is most likely to be the bacteria that lives in your system, if you call polar (they are in manchester and in the yellow pages
) they will come out to you (75 quid) or you to them (65 quid) and service your system, it takes 30 mins or so but you will have a fresh aircon system at the end of it

you can purchase a can of air con treatment, which you set off in the car, with the air con running, this then gets sucked up into and throught the aircon rad, disinfecting and cleaning the pipework and rad at the same time. most "good" car shops now stock, or "Forte" oil addative stockists also can supply. cheaper than calling out an aircon specialist, who will do exactly the same and charge something to hurt the "asda price"....
