Hi folks, have an STi3 with 80K miles on the clock, it was imported at 60K with no history. I got the belts, oil and filters done straight away and have kept to the servicing schedules since then. The belts were in good condition when replaced so I assume the car has been resonable well looked after.

I know subarus run well for lots of miles, but is there anything I should be checking to prempt any problems. Are there any 'common' high mileage probs tht I can avoid by preemptive work.

any help greatly appreciated

SCC performance in St Albans gave me a full cam belt service, and replacement crank seal for 400 quid. Good guys.

Changing the gear oil may make a difference, but not so much to prevent anything really. It just usually helps the gearchange, which I suppose is prevention in a way, for wear on the synchros etc. Castrol Syntrax.
Other than that, just regular maintenance, and it will last a very long time if not abused.
